Integrated Positional Therapy
Positional Therapy is a gentle, effective therapy for the treatment of chronic and acute muscular pain and for increasing range of motion, this treatment includes careful observation and evaluation of posture followed by placing the affected muscles in a position of comfort for 90 seconds. When the pain vanishes from the tender point, the stressed tissues are felt to be at their most relaxed. Positional Release Therapy achieves its benefits by means of an automatic resetting of muscle spindles. Relief is immediate and long lasting. These techniques are very effective in the treatment of pain due to injury, stress, repetitive strain, postural distortion, and chronic neuromuscular conditions. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Integrative Acupressure
INTEGRATIVE ACUPRESSURE is a healing practice guided by the Five Element theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine and draws upon the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, physical therapy, Thai Yoga Massage, Zen Shiatsu and Therapeutic Massage to promote healing on a physical, psychological and spiritual level. A session, in which you remain fully clothed, may include integrated use of the following modalities: ENERGETIC BALANCING: Stimulation with fingertip pressure, of “acupoints” that lie on the body’s meridians (pathways of energy) to bring about balance between the potential and kinetic energy in the body. This helps to create a healthy flow of energy and proper function of the internal organs. STRUCTURAL BALANCING: The entire body is supported not only by its skeletal structure but also by the other soft tissues that make it up (muscles, fascia, etc.). By releasing blocks in these areas that are holding tension, freedom and balance is brought to the structure as a whole. Integrative Acupressure includes the use of the practitioner’s fingers, hands, forearms, elbows, feet and knees. The session will also include assisted stretching. The work is relaxing and invigorating all in the same session. REFLEXOLOGY is a form of foot “massage” that is based on Eunice Ingram’s system, which views our feet as precise maps of our whole bodies. I employ reflexology to help diagnose and release energy blocks. It is a complete treatment in itself or integrated with a session.
Thai Yoga Bodywork
Thai Yoga Bodywork is a system of bodywork and assisted stretching developed in Thailand and influenced by the traditional medicine systems of India, China, & Southeast Asia. Thai Bodywork is performed on the floor on a futon or Thai Mat, and the client wears loose fitting comfortable clothing that allow for movement. No oils are used in Thai Bodywork. The receiver is positioned in a variety of yoga-like positions during the session and deep static and rhythmic pressures form the core of the work.
Zen Shiatsu
Zen Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork that is based in Traditional and Classical Chinese medicine. It is dynamic in its movements and application and very effective in its ability to bring balance and harmony to the energy flows in the body. A Zen Shiatsu Practitioner palpitates the energy flows in the body called meridians to determine what meridians need attention and support. The practitioner then uses fingers, hands, elbows and knees in a penetrating technique along with stretches to open, balance and harmonize the meridians resulting in physical, physiological, emotional, mental and spiritual healing.
Hot Stone Massage
Warm volcanic stones are massaged over the entire body to promote physical and spiritual balancing by using the energies of the therapeutic stones to relax the body at its deepest level. This ancient healing treatment moves energy to depleted areas, relieves sore muscles, and produces a soothing and meditative state of peace, calm, and balance. This a Ninety Minute Session.
Couples Massage Therapy
Couples Massage is one of the hottest services right now. Two people are massaged in the same room, at the same time, by two different therapists. It can be a husband and wife, girlfriend and boyfriend, same-sex partners, or even moms and daughters sometimes or best friends. Couples Massage is a great way to introduce a partner who has never gotten a massage before in a way that makes them feel more comfortable the first time. Some men are apprehensive about getting a massage because of the nudity involved, and to have their wife or girlfriend there is reassuring. Men usually discover that therapeutic touch is very relaxing and restorative. Once they experience a couples massage, they are more willing to book a massage on their own. It can also be a good choice if you're traveling with someone you don't get to see often enough -- a sister, girlfriend, mom or best friends -- and you want to spend as much time together as possible.
Prenatal Pregnancy Massage
Prenatal Massage shares many of the goals of regular massage – to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and just make you feel good. But it's also tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies. I am specifically trained in prenatal massage and I will adjust my techniques and your position on the table accordingly. The pressure during this session varies from light, to medium, to deep depending upon your unique and specific needs. Unlike many other Massage Therapists who do Prenatal Work, my work is not always light and I understand the need to get to your aches and pains and address your specific pregnancy needs.
CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy helps resolve trapped forces that underlie and govern patterns of disease and fragmentation in both body and mind. During the session we are listening through the hands to the body's subtle rhythms and any patterns of inertia or congestion. Through the development of subtle palpatory skills the practitioner can read the story of the body, identify places where issues are held and then follow the natural priorities for healing as directed by the patient¹s own physiology. The intention of treatment is to facilitate the expression of the Breath of Life and so enhance the body's own self-healing and self-regulating capabilities. This is done in a non-invasive way as the practitioner subtly and gently encourages the conditions that allow for the reemergence of primary respiratory motion. Furthermore, the practitioner's deep and clear quality of presence can become a reflective mirror for the patient and an invaluable cue for their potential for change.
Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage
Clothed Head, Neck, and Shoulder Massage is ideal for anyone wanting specific upper bodywork. Relax and unwind, this treatment relaxes the main stress points in your body using a variety of massage techniques and stretching—this is the perfect power break.
Cupping Therapy Session
Cupping Therapy is an ancient art developed over time with the purpose of draining toxins. Cupping is also known as decompression massage therapy. It utilizes suction and negative pressure to drain excess fluids and toxins, loosen adhesions, lift connective tissue and bring blood flow to the skin and muscles. Massage Cupping is used to treat a variety of conditions. Areas commonly treated are back, shoulders, neck and legs. Massage Cupping is extremely relaxing and patients feel a difference after one session. There is always the risk of bruising whenever cupping is done and the bruising can last up to 7 days. This is a thirty minute stand alone session or is done during any Massage Therapy Session.
Ear Candling
Ear Candling takes about Forty Five Minutes to perform. During the process you will feel a candle being lightly inserted into the ear and after it is lit you may feel a warm sensation in the ear. You will hear crackling sounds coming from the candle as it burns down. You could find that your hearing is much more acute and has improved if a blockage of wax is present. Your ears could feel airy and opened to sounds, tones and an overall sense of freshness. After being candled you may feel a sense of warmth or itching in the ear. This can relieved by the use of ear oil available at my office The ear oil contains garlic, eucalyptus, tea tree, olive and mullein oils. You may find your sinuses are draining or the drainage has increased after the session, which may relieve pressure and help clean out any materials in your sinus area.
